Introduction
The American Cultural Center Resource Service (ACCRS) of the American Institute in Taiwan provides an extensive open-stack collection of current materials about the United States. Most of the materials in the collection cover U.S. society and culture: history, arts and literature, economics, education, government and politics. Books:The ACCRS has about 4,000 volumes of books. Emphasis is on international relations, social sciences, arts and humanities. Periodical & Newspaper Collection:The ACCRS subscribes to about 76 general and specialized periodicals and three newspapers. Click here for American Cultural Center Resource Service Periodical List. Pamphlets and U.S. Government Documents:A wide range of pamphlets including U.S. Government documents and subjects of topical interest supplement the book collection. Online database/Microfiche/microfilm:The ProQuest online information service provides access to thousands of current periodicals, many containing full-text articles from 1986. The microform collection compactly stores back issues of periodicals and other important materials, such as U.S. Statutes At Large (since 1789).
