Diversity Immigrant Visa Program

U.S. Diversity Immigrant Visa Program for 2013

The American Institute in Taiwan is pleased to announce that the online registration period for the 2013 Diversity Visa Program (DV-2013) will begin at www.dvlottery.state.gov on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4), and conclude on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4).

The DV-2013 program will be conducted entirely electronically, including electronic entry.  Paper entries are not accepted.  The Department website established for the submission of E-DV entries is www.dvlottery.state.gov . Complete information on eligibility requirements and application procedures is available exclusively at the www.dvlottery.state.gov.

Successfully registered entries will result in the display of a confirmation screen page containing the applicant's name and confirmation number, which should then be printed.  The confirmation screen page will provide information the entrant must use to check electronically the status of his/her own entry through the ESC available at www.dvlottery.state.gov.  Only those entrants who keep their confirmation screen page information will be able to check their entrant status and, if selected, receive application instructions and notification of their IV interview appointment.

Due to anticipated high demands for the on-line application system, AIT encourages participants to submit applications well before the lottery ends. There is no fee to participate in the Diversity Immigrant Visa lottery.

The U.S. Government employs no outside consultants or private services to operate the DV program. Any intermediaries or others who offer assistance to prepare DV entries do so without the authority or consent of the U.S. Government. Use of any outside intermediary or assistance to prepare a DV entry is entirely at the entrant's discretion.
