Jonathan Hollander, the Resident Choreographer and Artistic Director, founded Battery Dance Company in 1976 and established the Company’s Downtown Dance Festival in 1982. He was a Fulbright Lecturer in India in 1992, and co-founded the Indo-American Arts Council in New York in 1998. He has choreographed over 85 works for Battery that have been presented throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, Australia, Middle East and North Africa.
Hollander has played a leadership role in the dance world internationally, building coalitions to support bilateral dialogue between the U.S. and many countries around the world. He is also a dedicated arts advocate for the Lower Manhattan community. He is a recipient of Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, an Arts & Business Council Encore Award and the Silver Mask of the Silesian Dance Theater in Poland.
Mr. Hollander will share his valuable perspectives and profound experiences on the topic with Taiwan related professionals.

Jonathan Hollander, founder and resident choreographer of Battery Dance Company, will introduce a new international cultural exchange program called "Dance to Connect" to Taiwan's high school dance students and aboriginal community.
The dancers from his company will intensely collaborate with 18 student dancers from Szu Chen Junior High School in Taichung County to produce an 8-10 minute piece which will be performed at the public performance on May 1st in Taichung's Chung Shan Hall.
