U.S. Senator Max Baucus to Lead Trade Delegation to Taiwan December 10-12, 2000
During the visit Senator Baucus is scheduled to meet senior Taiwan authorities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mainland Affairs Council, and Environment Protection Administration, as well as lawmakers and business leaders to discuss international trade and regional security issues. In addition, he will speak at the American Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Monday, December 11 and attend the Montana Health Food Seminar to be held at the American Agricultural Trade Office auditorium in the afternoon.
As the ranking member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, Senator Baucus pays much attention on public health and environmental issues. In terms of agriculture, he serves on the Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee. He will also be the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, which oversees trade affairs.
