AIT Holds DVC Programs in Celebration of American Indian Heritage Month
PR0658E | Date: 2006-11-16
In celebration of American Indian Heritage Month, AIT's American Cultural Center will hold two Digital Video Conference (DVC) programs on the art and literature of the Native American Indian on November 21st and 29th. Both events are also open to the public.
The oral traditions of Native Americans - in stories, songs, chants, prayers, poems and artifacts - have been a powerful means of communicating the realities of the native experience, and central to the understanding of native peoples and their cultures. Two American specialists in the United States will present the cultural heritage and the artistic achievements of Native Americans in the DVC programs.
These DVC programs will be held at the American Cultural Center in Taipei, and connected via digital video conference technology with the U.S., Chung Hsing University in Taichung, as well as the American Institute in Taiwan's Kaohsiung Branch Office.
