The American Institute in Taiwan may accept applications for an H, L, O, P, Q, or TN visa up to 90 days in advance of applicants’ beginning of employment status as noted on the Form I-797, Notice of Action. These applicants (except for H-2A applicants) can only use the visa to apply for entry to the U.S. starting ten days prior to the beginning of the approved status period noted on their Form I-797. H-2A applicants may apply to enter up to one week before the beginning of the approved period.
