International Education Week aims to celebrate the positive impact of international educational exchange on the United States and the world. It is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to highlight the benefits of studying abroad for Americans and to attract international students to study in the United States and gain a better understanding of American society and values. Education is an important link between the United States and Taiwan: At present, there are nearly 30,000 students from Taiwan in the United States, and over twenty members of Taiwan’s cabinet pursued higher studies in the United States.
AIT is pleased to work with two U.S. State Department-affiliated EducationUSA centers in Taiwan — the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange (www. ustudy.org.tw) and AIEF (http://www.aief.org.tw/). These two EducationUSA Centers offer accurate, comprehensive, objective and timely information about educational opportunities in the United States, and provide guidance on how best to access those opportunities.
