On Monday March 21, 2011, AIT will resume routine visa services after closing for one day on March 18 to provide support to American citizens departing from Japan.

Applicants whose visa interviews were cancelled on Friday, March 18, may reschedule their appointments by visiting the Application Processing Center’s web site at http://www.visaagent.com.tw.

For emergency visa cases, please review AIT’s website at https://www.ait.org.tw/ for information about what constitutes an emergency and follow the instructions on our website to submit an email request.

We appreciate the patience of the Taiwan people in helping us meet the need of Americans who are facing an extremely stressful situation in the face of a devastating earthquake, tsunami, major aftershocks, and now the threat of nuclear radiation. The support and assistance of the Taiwan people in these circumstances have impressed everyone at AIT. We especially want to note the tremendous help we have received from the Taiwan authorities, especially those working at Taoyuan International Airport. One of AIT’s most important responsibilities is to take care of our citizens in distress and we are grateful for Taiwan’s support.
