2002 U.S.-Taiwan Biotechnology Business Summit Mission Visiting the U.S.
A U.S.-Taiwan biotechnology business mission is visiting the United States to promote the business relationship between the U.S. and Taiwan biotech industries. Organized by the Commercial Section of the American Institute in Taiwan, the 2002 U.S.-Taiwan Biotechnology Summit Mission is scheduled to visit San Francisco, San Diego, and Seattle, the biotech hubs of California and Washington State, between August 18-24. This high-level delegation is led by Dr. Tsay Ching-Yen, Minister of State of the Executive Yuan, and is composed of biotech industry leaders and venture capitalists. The delegates will have opportunities to familiarize with the latest development, R&D facilities, and innovative technologies of the U.S. biotech industry.
The United States and Taiwan have been longstanding trade partners and have forged highly successful business relationships with each other within the biotech sector. As the U.S. is the world's leader in biotechnology, and Taiwan is striving to emerge as a future biotech hub, the two sides have been actively identifying each other as potential and successful business partners.
