New Products Usa 2002 September 19-20, 2002 Kaohsiung, Taiwan
U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Promotion Services Neal Burnham, Kaohsiung City Government Deputy Mayor Ho-shong Hou and AIT Kaohsiung Branch Chief Robert Forden will open the show with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 am, Thursday, September 19, at the Howard Plaza Kaohsiung Hotel. The press is cordially invited to cover the ceremony.
Mr. Burnham is U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Promotion Services. He is visiting the island to promote American products and trade with Taiwan.
NPUSA2002 will feature information on over 250 U.S. companies in 33 sectors, the majority of which have not yet been seen in the Taiwan market. Taiwan companies interested in importing or distributing American products will have an opportunity to review their materials. Some of the major sectors included are building products, computer software, computer peripherals, information technology, industrial equipment, medical/healthcare industry, pharmaceuticals, plastics/resins, safety and security products and telecommunication products, electronic components and electronic production, and testing and environmental protection products.
These companies come from all over the United States, with a special focus on seven states: Florida, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, and West Virginia. These states and the U.S. Department of Commerce are sending trade representatives to Kaohsiung to represent their products and to meet with Taiwan importers. In addition to Kaohsiung, the group will hold events in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur during this trip.
This show provides Taiwan businesses with an opportunity to learn about U.S. companies seeking to enter the Taiwan market and to establish relationships with U.S. state trade representatives. Taiwan businesses interested in developing commercial relations with American firms are welcome to attend. Advance registration is free but required for the event.
