Visit of Greta Joy Dicus, Commissioner, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission
Ms. Dicus is a radiation biologist by profession. She has had extensive experience as a research scientist in radiation health effects, and has served as Director of Radiation Control and Emergency Management at the Arkansas Department of Health, Commissioner of the Central States Low-Level Waste Compact Commission, and member of the U.S. Enrichment Corporation Board of Directors. Ms. Dicus joined the USNRC as Commissioner in February 1996.
The United States and Taiwan enjoy close cooperation in the field of nuclear safety under an AIT-TECRO agreement for Civil Nuclear Cooperation. While in Taipei, Commissioner Dicus will also consult with senior representatives at the Atomic Energy Council and the Taiwan Power Company to discuss current and future collaborative efforts in this area.
