Event Title (Date): Trade Secrets Protection and Digital Piracy Prevention (17 June, 2021)

Content of Workshop:  The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office (THPO), and the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association (JTEA) kicked off a two-day virtual Global Cooperation and Training Framework workshop on intellectual property rights (IPR) protection with a focus on prosecution of cross-border cases related to trade-secrets theft and industry’s measures to protect trade secrets. IPR protection is a critical driving force for economic development in the modern digital economy.

Key Attendees: AIT Director Brent Christensen, Ministry of Justice Minister Tsai Ching-hsiang, MOFA Deputy Minister Tseng Ho-jen, and JTEA Deputy Chief Representative Hoshino Mitsuaki.
