U.S. Senior Official for APEC Visits Taiwan

The U.S. Senior Official for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Ambassador Matt Murray, visited Taiwan October 11-12 to discuss issues related to APEC and the robust, unofficial U.S.-Taiwan economic relationship with senior Taiwan officials.

The United States is proud to serve as APEC host in 2023 under the theme of “Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All.”  Ambassador Murray discussed issues related to APEC, including the conclusion of a series of ministerial meetings in Seattle in August on disaster preparedness, food security, health and the economy, energy, women’s economic participation, and small and medium enterprises.  Ambassador Murray also discussed the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, including the Finance Ministerial Meeting, the APEC Ministerial Meeting, and the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting to be held in San Francisco in November.
